Sophisticated grey stone slabs ranging from pale silver to deep graphite — a versatile, architectural palette for contemporary kitchens and living spaces.

A grey stone benchtop sits in the middle ground between a bright white kitchen and a dark, moody one, which is why it suits so many contemporary homes. Europe Imports supplies grey slabs in marble, quartzite, limestone and travertine, for benchtops, vanities, splashbacks and feature walls.
Slabs are available to view and reserve through our Sydney warehouse in Kings Park, with supply to fabricators Australia-wide.

What can grey stone slabs be used for?
Contemporary kitchens. Bianco Superiore with white or charcoal joinery gives a clean, modern kitchen that stays light without the glare of pure white.
Bathrooms with a soft, even surface. Tundra Light and Tundra Medium bring a calm, cloud like quality to vanities and wall panels. A vanity and a matching wall cut from the same slabs gives a quiet, unified room.
Statement islands and bars. Deep Blue's blue grey base and gold veins make a bar or island the focus of the room, and pair well with brushed brass or dark timber.
Feature walls and fireplaces. Titanium Silver Travertine's linear veining and mixed silver and brown tones read well at scale, particularly in the leathered finish.
Pairing with tapware. Stainless steel and brushed nickel sit naturally with cool greys. Black tapware adds definition to Calacatta Arabascato Corchia. Brass suits the warm veining in Cosmopolitan Bordeaux and Deep Blue.

How to build a grey benchtop
Match hardness to the room. For a hard working kitchen benchtop, a grey quartzite is the most forgiving choice. Bianco Superiore resists scratching and etching far better than marble or limestone. Grey marble and limestone are softer and react to acids, so they suit owners who want their character and accept some patina, or they can go on vanities and walls where wear is lighter.
Decide warm grey or cool grey. Tundra Medium carries taupe undertones and Cosmopolitan Bordeaux carries brown and blush veining, so both read warm. Bianco Superiore and Tundra Light read cooler and cleaner. Put a joinery sample and your tapware finish beside the slab at the viewing, because a cool grey against warm timber can look flat, and a warm grey against cold white can look muddy.
Choose the Titanium Silver finish deliberately. The filled and leathered option gives a tactile, textured surface with the pitting filled, which is easier to wipe down on a benchtop. Honed and unfilled leaves the pits open for a more rustic look, better suited to feature walls. Confirm which finish your slabs are with our team.
Plan veining with your fabricator. Calacatta Arabascato Corchia and Deep Blue have enough movement that cut positions matter. Ask the fabricator to lay out templates on the reserved slabs so veins run sensibly across the island and into the splashback, and so joins fall where the pattern hides them.
Allow for quartzite cutting time. Quartzite is slower to cut and finish than marble or limestone, and fabricators price and schedule accordingly.
Seal it. All natural stone benefits from sealing, and limestone and travertine are the most porous grey options. We supply stone sealers, including Chemforce Stain Protector. Product technical data is available in our technical information area.
A grey quartzite is the most durable option. Bianco Superiore, a Brazilian quartzite with soft grey and silver veining, is much harder than marble or limestone and resists etching. It suits busy family kitchens.
Yes. Europe Imports supplies Cosmopolitan Bordeaux, a marble with a soft grey base and brown and blush veining, and Calacatta Arabascato Corchia, an Italian marble with a white base and intricate grey and charcoal veining. Both are supplied honed at 20mm.
Grey marble can be used on a kitchen benchtop if the owners accept that it will etch and develop a patina. Marble is softer than quartzite and reacts to acids. A honed finish, sealing and prompt cleaning of spills help it wear well.
A mid grey or grey veined benchtop generally disguises crumbs, water spots and light wear better than a plain bright white or a very dark stone. A honed finish helps further by softening reflections and fingerprints.
Both are limestone slabs. Tundra Light has pale grey tones with gentle cloud like patterns, while Tundra Medium is a cool blend of soft greys with subtle taupe undertones. Viewing them together shows the difference in depth.
Filled means the natural pits in the travertine have been filled for a smoother, easier to clean surface. Leathered is a textured finish with a soft, tactile feel. Titanium Silver Travertine is offered filled and leathered, or honed and unfilled.
Deep Blue is a Brazilian quartzite with a soft blue grey base and amber, gold and caramel veining. In most light it reads as a cool grey with a blue cast, which makes it a good option for a grey kitchen that wants more colour.
