Glossy
The classic Ezarri finish: a smooth reflective glass face that returns light up through the water, in solid colours, blends, watercolours and speckles.

Gloss is the classic Ezarri finish, a smooth reflective glass face that returns light up through the water and gives a pool its familiar brightness and sparkle.
As the exclusive Australian distributor of Ezarri, Europe Imports supplies glossy mosaics across almost the whole catalogue, from clean solid colour to blends, watercolour patterns and speckled designs, every sheet made in Lazkao, Spain from recycled glass.
Why choose a glossy finish?
Gloss describes the surface of the tile, not its colour or its collection. A glossy Ezarri tessera has a smooth, unbroken glass face that reflects light rather than scattering it, which is what produces the clean highlight you see across a tiled pool wall on a sunny day.
It is worth being clear about what the gloss is and is not. It is not a glaze or a coating applied over a different body. Ezarri mosaics are fully vitrified glass with the colour carried through the piece, so the reflective face is the material itself. That is why a glossy Ezarri tile does not dull, craze or lose its colour the way a surface treatment can, and why a cut tessera shows the same colour through its edge as it does on its face.
Gloss is also the finish that does the most work on water colour. As a general design guide, a pale glossy mosaic tends to produce light, crystalline turquoise water; a mid blue reinforces a classic pool blue and holds it as depth increases; and a dark grey, green or black gloss produces a deep, mirror-like surface that picks up the sky and the landscape around it. Depth, sunlight, shade, grout colour, and surrounding materials all contribute, which is why we recommend viewing samples outdoors before deciding.
Explore the Glossy Ezarri Ranges
Because gloss is the default finish, the choice here is about pattern and colour rather than availability:
- Niebla offers the softly misted blends that remain the traditional benchmark for Australian pools.
- Lisa delivers clean, uniform solid colour for minimalist and contemporary designs.
- Aquarelle brings watercolour inspired patterns with deliberate tile to tile variation, for feature walls and water features.
- Terrazzo delivers speckled aggregate patterns that read like stone but behave like glass.
- Our Cocktail range offers premium textured pieces for waterlines, spas and splashbacks.
- Hexa carries gloss designs in the hexagonal format.
- Our Australian Designer range collects blends curated for Australian pools, light and landscapes.
Glossy tiles are available in 25mm and 50mm formats depending on the collection, with matching Corner and Cove pieces for waterline detail and Safe Step variants for steps and shallow zones in selected designs. If you want the opposite effect, the matte finish trades reflection for a soft low glare surface, while iridescent and metallic take the reflective quality in different directions. Our Top 20 colours is a good shortcut if you want the most specified options first.

Engineered in Spain, Installed in Australian Pools
Every glossy Ezarri sheet is manufactured from 100% recycled glass and backed by Ezarri's patented JointPoint panelling system, relied on for high end pool projects worldwide. JointPoint® leaves 92% of the mosaic surface free for direct adhesive contact and stays flexible enough to follow curves, coves and detailed pool geometry. Ezarri's published technical data states it can reduce installation time by approximately 25% compared with traditional methods, in part because there is no face paper to soak and peel after fixing.
Because the glass is vitrified, with the colour running through the body rather than sitting on the surface as a print, the finish holds its intensity under UV, chlorine and salt over the life of a pool, and the range is backed by a 25 year colour fade guarantee.
One honest note on maintenance. A glossy surface is non porous, so nothing soaks in and stains from below, and routine brushing during normal pool maintenance is generally enough. What a reflective surface does is show what sits on it, so scale and body oils at the waterline are more visible on gloss than on a textured face. That is a cleaning frequency question rather than a durability one, and it is one reason waterline detail is worth discussing at specification stage.
Where Glossy Mosaic Tiles Shine
Beyond swimming pools, the same properties suit a bathroom. A glossy glass mosaic reflects natural light into a shower recess or a windowless ensuite, resists staining and mould on the tile face, and wipes clean behind a cooktop. It is a common choice for shower walls, niches, vanity splashbacks, kitchen splashbacks and feature walls, and it pairs well with matt render, timber and pale stone, where the reflection provides contrast without adding another colour.
In commercial work, gloss mosaics are specified in hospitality bars, wellness and change areas and reception features, where the surface needs to be hard wearing, cleanable and visually distinctive.
Why Customers Choose Europe Imports
Based in Kings Park, our team works directly with homeowners, architects, interior designers and pool builders to get the right glossy colour into a project. Our advice is always to start from the water colour you want rather than the tile in isolation: shortlist two or three designs, order samples, and view them outdoors in both sun and shade against the render, coping and decking you are using.
Give us a call on 1300 EUROPE to order up to five free samples online, book a showroom appointment to compare tones in person, find your nearest stockist, or use our interactive Pool Visualiser to see your chosen gloss rendered in a finished pool before you commit.
Gloss has a smooth reflective face that returns light back through the water, producing brightness, highlight and sparkle. Matte has a low sheen face that scatters light instead, producing a softer, calmer surface with less glare. Both are fully vitrified Ezarri glass with the same non porous body, so the difference is in how the surface handles light rather than in durability.
Slip performance depends on the specific product and the application rather than on the gloss finish alone, and it is assessed per product. For submerged steps, ledges and shallow zones, Ezarri offers Safe Step pieces in selected designs. Confirm what is available for your chosen colour with the Europe Imports team, and confirm ratings from the product technical data sheet.
Ezarri glass is fully vitrified, which means the colour runs through the body of each tessera rather than sitting on the surface as a coating or print. The finish holds its colour under UV, chlorine and salt, and Europe Imports backs the range with a 25 year colour fade guarantee. Viewing samples outdoors is still worthwhile, as the same colour reads differently through the day.
They are not harder to clean, but residue is more visible on them. A non porous glass face means nothing is absorbed, so routine brushing during normal pool maintenance is generally sufficient. Scale and body oils at the waterline show more clearly on a reflective surface than on a textured one, so waterline cleaning frequency matters more than the product does.
As a general design guide, pale and light blue glossy mosaics tend to produce a light turquoise or crystalline water colour, and the effect is strongest in shallower pools and in direct sun. Water depth, shade, grout colour and surrounding materials all influence the result, so use the Pool Visualiser to preview a shortlist and confirm with physical samples in natural light.
Yes. Ezarri glass is non porous and chemically stable, which makes it suitable for chlorinated, saltwater, magnesium mineral and ozone treated systems when the mosaic, waterproofing, adhesive and grout are specified and installed as a complete, compatible system rated for permanent immersion.
Use a grout approved for permanent pool immersion and compatible with the collection you have chosen. A grout close to the dominant tile colour lets the surface read as one continuous reflective plane, while a contrasting grout defines each tessera. Note that Ezarri Gold has specific grout requirements. We can send grout samples with your tile samples.
Europe Imports posts up to five free samples anywhere in Australia. You can also book an appointment at our Kings Park showroom to compare full sheets and completed project boards under natural light, or call 1300 387 673 for help shortlisting the right colour.
