Our Material Range
Limestone Natural Stone
A sedimentary stone with calm, even tones and a soft surface, supplied in tiles, pavers, coping, cobbles, steppers, cladding and slabs.
Limestone is widely used for pool surrounds in Australia, valued for its calm tones and its soft, comfortable surface underfoot. Choose a textured finish such as sandblasted, sandbrushed or tumbled for wet areas, confirm the slip rating for the specific product from its technical data sheet, and specify a sealer suited to permanent exposure to pool water and sanitiser.
Travertine is a form of limestone deposited by mineral springs, which gives it its characteristic layered, pitted structure. Limestone formed from marine sediment generally has a calmer, more even surface with less visible pitting. Both are porous and benefit from sealing, and both are available from Europe Imports across paving, coping and tile formats.
Yes. Limestone is porous, so a sealing specification is part of the installation, particularly around pools, in outdoor kitchens and in shaded areas where organic matter collects. The stone and the exposure determine which sealer and how many coats. We supply Chemforce Stain Protector and can advise on the right approach for your stone.
Limestone is softer than marble and quartzite, but a correctly specified limestone paver at a suitable thickness, laid on a proper base and sealed, performs well across terraces, courtyards and pool surrounds. Our stocked limestone pavers are generally 3cm thick. For driveways and heavy traffic, confirm suitability for the specific stone with our team.
French limestone refers to limestone quarried in France, historically used on chateau terraces and pool areas across Europe. Our Dijon Limestone is a light beige French limestone with soft earthy tones, supplied sandblasted and tumbled in pavers, tiles, cobbles, crazy paving and linear cladding.
Limestone slabs, including Myra, Tundra and Earth, are supplied in large format for benchtops, vanities and feature walls. Limestone is softer and more acid reactive than quartzite, so it suits clients who accept a surface that develops character with use. For busy family kitchens, discuss quartzite or dolomite as alternatives with our team.
Some variation is inherent to natural stone. Low movement stones such as Salem Grey are chosen for consistency, while others show more tonal movement. Order the full quantity from one batch wherever possible, and view full pieces before finalising a selection for a large area.
Yes. Europe Imports supplies homeowners, pool builders, landscapers, builders, architects, designers and tile distributors from our Kings Park base in Sydney, and delivers Australia-wide. Trade customers have access to trade pricing, project quoting, batch and stock checks, technical documentation and delivery planning.
