Metallic
A reflective metal effect face over fully vitrified glass, giving deep jewel-like colour with a hard sheen across the Metallica and Gold collections.

Metallic Ezarri mosaics use a reflective metal effect face over fully vitrified glass, producing a deep, jewel-like colour with a hard sheen. The Metallica collection is the core of it, with the Gold collection covering the precious metal end of the range.
As the exclusive Australian distributor of Ezarri, Europe Imports supplies both, with samples, project pricing and Australia-wide delivery.
Why choose metallic mosaic tiles?
A metallic Ezarri mosaic carries a metal effect face that reflects light with the hardness of polished metal rather than the softness of coloured glass. Where an iridescent finish shifts gently between related tones, a metallic finish gives a definite, directional reflection over a much denser colour. Ezarri describes the range as reflective and edgy, capturing the eye at every angle with a bold, sophisticated metallic finish, and positions it for intense designer styles.
The base remains fully vitrified Ezarri glass. The colour is not printed on top of a plain body, and the material is non porous, chemically stable and manufactured for the same applications as the rest of the range. What changes is the visual weight. A metallic mosaic is not a background finish, and it is generally specified with that in mind.
As a general design guide, metallic finishes read strongest in direct sun and at or near the waterline, and become deeper and more subdued with water depth.
Explore the Metallic Ezarri Ranges
- Metallica runs to ten designs named for metals and minerals, in a deliberately jewel toned palette: Aurum, a warm gold tone; Azurita, a deep mineral blue; Esmeralda, a saturated emerald; Inox and Nickel, cool industrial greys at different depths; Lava, a dark volcanic tone; Opalo, a paler opalescent leaning metallic; Oxido, a warm oxidised copper register; Rubi, a deep red; and Vanadium, a dark steel.
- Gold sits at the top of the Ezarri range and incorporates gold as a material rather than imitating it, typically specified on features, spas, waterlines and interior surfaces.
- Space offers a satin finish with soft highlights, a gentler option where a full metallic look would be too strong.
- Fosfo is the phosphorescent collection, for projects wanting the tile itself to hold light after dark.
Metallica is supplied as a 25mm tessera. Availability of formats and special pieces varies by design, so confirm the current format and sheet data from the product technical data sheet before specifying. For a softer reflection, compare against glossy and iridescent.

Engineered in Spain, Installed in Australian Pools
Every metallic Ezarri sheet is manufactured from 100% recycled glass and backed by Ezarri's patented JointPoint panelling system, which leaves 92% of the mosaic surface free for adhesive contact and remains flexible over curves, coves and detailed pool geometry. Ezarri's published technical data states it can reduce installation time by approximately 25% compared with traditional methods.
One specification point must not be missed. Ezarri Gold has specific grout requirements that have to be followed. Using a grout that is not approved for the product can damage the finish, and this is not an area for substitution on site. Confirm the grout specification with Europe Imports before the tiles are ordered, and make sure it is written into the installation documentation given to the tiler. The full installation guidance sits in our technical information area.
The other decision to settle early is whether the metallic runs across the whole pool or sits as a feature. As a feature, it is extremely effective: a Metallica spa against a plain glossy pool, a metallic waterline band, a raised wall with a spillway, or a blade water feature, all placing the reflectivity where it will catch direct light and movement. This is the more common approach and the easier one to get right. As a whole pool interior, metallic gives a dense, jewel-like body of water with a strongly reflective surface, and it works best where the pool is a designed object viewed from the house and the surrounding materials are restrained enough to let it dominate. It is less forgiving than a classic blue, because the reflection picks up whatever is around the pool. We recommend reviewing large samples on site and talking the scheme through with our team before committing to a full metallic interior.
Where Metallic Mosaic Tiles Shine
Away from the pool, metallic glass mosaics are a favourite in hospitality and retail: bar fronts, back of bar walls, restaurant features, reception desks and lift lobbies, where directional lighting can be designed around the reflection. In residential interiors they appear in powder rooms, feature niches, fireplace surrounds and splashbacks.
Lighting is the variable that decides whether the finish succeeds. Metallic mosaics under flat, diffuse light look darker and less interesting than they do under directional light or daylight, so if the surface is indoors, specify the tile and the lighting together. Our team works with architects and interior designers on exactly this, and our project gallery shows how the finish reads once installed.
How it works
Send us the design, the quantity and the application and we will provide a project quote. On lead time, stocked products can generally be dispatched within a few business days of order confirmation, while custom blends, specific batch requirements and large project quantities are made to order in Spain and take considerably longer.
Give us a call on 1300 EUROPE to request samples and current pricing, book a showroom appointment in Kings Park to see the finish under real light, find your nearest stockist, or use our Pool Visualiser to preview a design at pool scale.
An Ezarri metallic mosaic is fully vitrified glass with a reflective metal effect face. The body is the same non porous, chemically stable glass used across the Ezarri range, made in Lazkao, Spain from recycled glass raw material. The metallic quality is in how the face returns light, not in the tile being a different material.
Metallica is the main metal effect collection, comprising Aurum, Azurita, Esmeralda, Inox, Lava, Nickel, Opalo, Oxido, Rubi and Vanadium. The Gold collection incorporates gold and sits at the premium end of the range. Space, a satin finish collection, offers a softer sheen if a full metallic look is too strong for the project.
Yes, and the result is a dense, jewel-like water colour with a strongly reflective surface. It is a more demanding choice than a classic blue, because the reflection picks up the surrounding landscape and built form. We recommend reviewing large samples on site and discussing the scheme with our team before specifying a full metallic interior.
Ezarri metallic mosaics are manufactured on the same non porous, chemically stable glass body as the rest of the pool range. As with any pool mosaic, suitability depends on the mosaic, waterproofing, adhesive and grout being specified and installed as a complete, compatible system rated for permanent immersion. Confirm the product specific data with our team before specifying.
Ezarri Gold has specific grout requirements that must be followed, and using an unapproved grout can damage the finish. Confirm the grout specification with Europe Imports before ordering, and make sure it appears in the documentation issued to the tiler rather than being decided on site.
Metallic and gold finishes sit above classic colours on price, and the figure depends on the collection, format, quantity and current stock, so we do not publish prices. Send us the design, quantity and application and we will provide a current project quote.
A metallic finish gives a hard, directional reflection over a dense colour, closer in character to polished metal. An iridescent finish gives a softer pearl effect that shifts between related tones as light and viewing angle change. Metallic makes a statement, iridescent adds movement. Viewing both as samples side by side is the quickest way to tell which suits the project.
Metallica is supplied as a 25mm tessera, and availability of formats and special pieces varies by collection and design. Contact the Europe Imports team with the design you are considering and we will confirm the current format, sheet data and whether Corner and Cove or Safe Step pieces are produced for it.
